Bitcoin Wealth Platform is an independent editorial resource for people who want to do more with their Bitcoin without selling it. We cover the financial decisions that come with meaningful Bitcoin exposure: IRAs, lending, tax, custody, retirement, and inheritance.
What we do
BWP combines decision tools with editorial guides. The tools (the IRA Finder, the Loan Calculator) match readers to specific providers based on their situation, using verified data refreshed regularly. The guides explain how each area actually works: what the products are, what they cost, what the structural risks are, and how to think through the decision.
The site is built around one premise. Bitcoin is most valuable when you don’t sell it. The strategies that get the most out of holding Bitcoin (tax-advantaged growth inside an IRA, borrowing against the position instead of liquidating, planning inheritance to preserve basis) are usually buried in obscure documentation or sold through providers with mixed incentives. BWP is built to translate them.
How we work
Independent editorial
BWP has no parent company, no investor commitments, and no editorial deals with any provider. Affiliate placement is separate from editorial coverage and always disclosed.
Verified data
Every provider data point in our tools and guides is traceable to a primary source. Verification dates are visible on every tool and guide. Outdated information is the most common reason comparison sites mislead readers. We refuse to ship it.
Risk transparency
Most comparison sites bury structural risk. We surface it. Liquidation cascade mechanics on lending products, custody differences across IRA providers, the practical implications of in-kind withdrawal rules, the difference between rehypothecation and segregated custody. These are decisions, not footnotes.

About the founder
Michael Sharp founded Bitcoin Wealth Platform in 2025. He became interested in Bitcoin in 2011, when it was still a fringe internet experiment, and has watched it become a real asset class over the following decade and a half. He works as a creative strategist with a focus on product, positioning, and editorial, and is based in Brooklyn, New York.
How this is funded
BWP earns revenue through affiliate partnerships with some of the providers it covers. Editorial coverage is separate from affiliate placement. The Affiliate Disclosure page explains exactly how that works.
